These photos were taken on our local beach in February 2019 and that is just a few minutes walk from our wonderful apartments in El Presidente.  

Although warm sunshine and cloudless blue skies of course cannot always be guaranteed during our winters here on the Costa del Sol, we have been enjoying weeks of tremendous weather so far this year. As you can see here, there have been many people both from our next-door Marriott Playa Andaluza resort and us locals who have been lapping up the opportunity to go to the beach, stretch out, relax and enjoy the spectacular views across the Mediterranean to Gibraltar and the coast of North Africa whilst feeling the pleasant warmth of the winter sun on our bones! 

How was the weather in the first week of December where you live? Here in Marbella, the sun was shining, the skies were a gorgeous clear blue and we could see all the way to the coast of Africa, the Spanish enclave of Ceuta and Gibraltar too. Shirtsleeves and even shorts were in evidence as many people, locals and visitors alike, enjoyed the re-energising warmth of the sun as they strolled along the beautiful promenade with their family and friends. With the temperature in the low 20s Centigrade, this was close-to-perfect outdoor living. Leisurely walking or more active skating & cycling, chatting and laughing with those who are close to them, dining and drinking, perusing the many local shops or just chilling on the beach! 

Marbella beach and its beautiful promenade in December are a wonderful place to be any day of the week, but especially at the weekends when the locals join the visitors to stroll along the seafront to enjoy the spectacular views, the normally fantastic weather (it was 24C when these photos were taken!) and the fabulous bars and restaurants. One of our favorite places to go to is the "La Red" restaurant that is just below the promenade and on the beach. 

Open throughout most of the year, with evenings in the summer too, La Red, has a wide range of tasty dishes and drinks to tempt most palates, is great for families and couples and has great service too! 

 

21 years ago we were looking to buy a holiday apartment close to Marbella on the Costa del Sol and the steps that we took in making our final choice will hopefully help you too, especially as so many of our key determinants are likely to be very similar to those that you have for your holiday rental apartment.
