Whilst most of Europe shivered, relaxing on the beach next to El Presidente this February, we have been enjoying temperatures of 23C!

These photos were taken on our local beach in February 2019 and that is just a few minutes walk from our wonderful apartments in El Presidente.
Although warm sunshine and cloudless blue skies of course cannot always be guaranteed during our winters here on the Costa del Sol, we have been enjoying weeks of tremendous weather so far this year. As you can see here, there have been many people both from our next-door Marriott Playa Andaluza resort and us locals who have been lapping up the opportunity to go to the beach, stretch out, relax and enjoy the spectacular views across the Mediterranean to Gibraltar and the coast of North Africa whilst feeling the pleasant warmth of the winter sun on our bones!
With recent afternoon temperatures in the low 20s in the Marbella area, we have been enjoying the benefits of leaving the coats, scarves and even the jumpers in the wardrobes. Feeling the sun on our faces and bodies in February when the temperature is just perfect for being outdoors, is a real privilege and certainly encourages a positive view of life in the winter!
Of course some warm clothing is still needed in the evenings when the night-time temperatures can drop to as low as 8C , yes that low!, but even then easily beating the recent maximum daytime temperature for many parts of Europe and North America!. Although it can rain too we mustn't forget that the reservoirs and gardens need to be replenished as well.
Indeed when the weather isn't quite good enough for sunbathing, there are so many wonderful places to go off and explore and that are easily accessible from El Presidente - Marbella, Puerto Banus, Estepona and the "white villages" of Ronda, Casares, Gaucin and Istan!
